The
MachineXL system is scalable to accommodate
large plants and provide decision support information
at many levels, for operators, technicians,
engineers and management. The main software
components can be distributed across a network.
Simultaneous
User Access
Each software package includes a license for
2 simultaneous Users and 3 simultaneous Data
Concentrators (RDCs). If more than 2 Users need
simultaneous access to the system configurations,
data or status information, additional user
licenses are available.
Distributable
Components
MachineXpert SQL distributable components include:
Data Concentrator(s),
System Manager, Viewing Station(s),
and
Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Database Server(s)
•
Data Concentrator
routinely collects and screens data acquired
by the nodes in a section of the plant. It rejects
invalid data and looks for exception conditions.
It stores collected data and condition status
in the system database, where it is available
for display and diagnostic evaluation.
• System Manager
controls all aspects of the system, including
database connections, User rights, system design,
hardware-software connection, sensor properties,
data acquisition parameters and alarms.
• Viewing Station
is used to display condition status of part
of the plant and provides a suite of diagnostic
tools. By controlling User access rights the
station can be configured for use by users with
different skill levels, information requirements
and responsibilities.
• The Microsoft
SQL Server 2000 Database Server(s) can
also be anywhere on the network. |

Basic
system components are viewing
station, nodes
(9901), sensors,
and speed, trigger and
state inputs from plant devices such
as PLCs.
MachineXL nodes (Models 9901) are Ethernet based,
and can be used to expand an existing MachineXpert®
Ethernet network, or used within the same system
as a MachineXpert® RS 485 network.
With MachineXL’s
MachineXpert SQL™ Condition Monitoring
software, configuration
is straightforward: the layout of the sensors
and equipment is created on screen; then matched
to the physical data collection network. Measurement
setups are determined for download to the data
acquisition nodes and alarm criteria are established.
Simple Operation
Operation is simple: nodes automatically collect,
process and store data on a user-controlled
schedule. Every measurement is screened for
exceptions and reported to the user. Interpretative
tools are available for users to build-in previous
knowledge to the system about likely causes
of alarms. A comprehensive set of diagnostic
tools is included for the more experienced user
to carry out in-depth analysis
Intelligent
Features
The system has many intelligent features that
allow it to be customized to the behavior of
complex machines and to be able to automatically
respond to changing operating conditions. This
provides a significant enhancement of fault
discrimination while avoiding too many false
or missed alarms. |
